Christians Doubtful Of An Obama Presidency
|
ChristiaNet.com, the world's largest Christian portal with twelve million monthly page loads, recently asked, "Will Obama be the next president?" President of ChristiaNet, Bill Cooper, stated, "There will be a tight race for the presidency, no matter who is running."
Out of 3,000 Christians surveyed, 41% felt that Barrack Obama would not be successful in his run for the presidency. One survey taker said, "No he's Muslim and he's black! No offense but when has a black or Muslim man ever been elected? I mean think! Logical!" Another non-supporter replied, "#1- HE DOES NOT RESPECT THE COUNTRY. #2- He says he does not support his own pastor when he is behind the pulpit. Be real! How many of us join a club-- much less a church-- and don't agree with the administration?" Still, others in doubt just plain did not agree with his policy, "He is too liberal and too eager for change. He can't possibly do all that he says...he's just not realistic."
A close thirty five percent of poll takers did believe that Obama had a chance to become America's next president, "He wants to change the way things are done here, and I'm all for that." Another said, "He has some good ideas and I would like to see them implemented before I die, if the conservatives will allow it." Still, another poll taker responded, "The American people are sick of Republicans and Obama is the change they are looking for. I'm voting for Obama."
Twenty four percent of those who took the survey were unsure. One poller said, "At the moment it looks like Obama may win but only God will make the one He wants to be in place for His will to be done." Another unsure poll taker responded, "Women and blacks were never wanted in politics. Now we have one woman and one black. If Obama wins it will be because ...they don't want Mrs. Clinton, because she is a woman, and because of the scandal her husband caused in this nation years ago." Most in this category, however, were unsure because, "I can't predict the future, no one can, so why bother. Just go out and vote."
