John McCain, Our Next President?

ChristiaNet.com, the world's largest Christian portal with twelve million monthly page loads, recently asked, "Will John McCain be the next President?" ChristiaNet President, Bill Cooper, stated, "Only time will tell, the people must go to the polls to choose."

Out of 2,000 Christians surveyed, 42% of them believed that the country's next president would be Senator John McCain because, "He is the best person for the job and he is the only one who will be able to get votes across party lines." One poll taker agreed but also added," Although he is not a true conservative, he is the most conservative compared to Hillary and Obama." Another supporter of McCain stated, "America is not ready to vote into office anything but a white male president. That leaves out Hillary and Obama."

A close thirty two percent of survey takers were adamant about not electing John McCain for president, " He is a crook, a liar, a Democrat at heart, wishy washy...not a fit Republican candidate." Others against a McCain presidency stated, "A vote for McCain is an endorsement for more Bush politics. People want change from the current administration and Bush has just been awful for this country." Another poll taker in this category stated, "He won't win because it is time for a change and the Republicans know that is really what the people want but they don't care about representing the people."

Twenty six percent were unsure about the outcome of the presidential election. They voiced their opinions with, "Only God knows and He will allow a person to be elected that He has a plan for," and, "I don't know, but I will certainly be on my knees praying about it before and after I visit the polls." Most in this category were unsure because of the perceptions of the media for all candidates concerned, "It seems like everybody in the country hates Bush and the Republicans, but just as many seem to hate Hillary. I would choose Obama to win, except I don't know if he will because he is a minority and he has limited political experience."
