America Is Doomed For Financial Collapse
ChristiaNet.com, a large Christian portal with eight million monthly page loads, recently asked, Is America headed toward a financial collapse? President of ChristiaNet, Bill Cooper, stated, The majority of those polled felt that a failed U.S. economy will be the result of God's judgment on national immorality. However, others were confident that America could survive a monetary crisis.
Out of 800 Christians surveyed, 54% saw America's financial decline as divine punishment for national sin. One respondent said, "More than financial collapse, we already have moral collapse. The wrath of God is bearing down on our nation for its acceptance of whorehouse marriages and divorce, abortion, and for being a nation that practices and defends sin, lies habitually, and has chosen to sear its conscience." Another in this group stated, "We were blessed with prosperity when we honored and put God first; but that is gone now and so is God's divine protection."
Twenty-seven percent of those surveyed were unsure about whether the United States is headed for financial downfall. On poller said, "God promises in His Word that we would never see the righteous forsaken nor his seed begging for bread. Hey, guys, we have to trust God. If we pray and stick together, God will save America, right?" Another stated, "Only God knows for sure. He can have this nation destroyed if He wants to, but He might give America another chance. But, its unlikely because of abortion, gay marriage, and many more vices, which are against God."
Nineteen percent of Christians polled feel strongly that the United States can avoid financial calamity. One poller reasoned that "God will uphold the nation for the sake of true believers, Although the USA has many bad elements, there are millions who live a godly life. God will honor them and not permit disaster to befall them or their lovely country." Others suggested that adopting conservative monetary policies might prevent the nations demise. "This country has experienced times of economic shifts before. We survived and we will survive again. We need to stop going after the bigger, better and more costly and return to the simple."
