Will Jesus Return In The Next Four Years?

ChristiaNet.com, a large Christian portal with eight million monthly page loads, recently asked, "Will Jesus return in the next four years?" President of ChristiaNet, Bill Cooper, said, "A majority of Christians believe that they cannot say for sure whether or not Christ will return in the next four years."

With nearly 2,100 Christians responding to the survey, 62% said that they were unsure about whether or not Christ's return will take place within the next four years. "According to the Bible we do not know the time or hour that Jesus will return but we are told to be ready," said one responder, adding, "We have to be in a state of readiness for His return." Another Christian explained, "He'll come like a thief in the night." This responder went on to reflect that "We are closer than we've ever been because of all the wickedness and the prophesies that seem to be being fulfilled. I'm sure they thought He'd come back during the time of Rome too, since it also was so wicked. Only the Lord knows. Will we be ready?" Still another responder commented "I hope He does! I really want to say yes, but no one knows the time except the Father!"

Twenty percent of Christians surveyed believe that the second coming will not occur within the next four years. Many responders mentioned the fact that the Bible says that no one knows the day or hour. "I do believe that Christ is due to make a return, I just believe that a few more things have to happen first," said one responder. Another Christian said, "It would be nice, but we will never know the date. He will surprise us, so be ready!"

Eighteen percent of Christians said that Jesus Christ would be returning withing the next four years. "All the end times signs are here for the rapture to occur and the tribulation to officially begin...so many signs point to His return" said one responder. "I hope so," said another. Another Christian simply stated, "He'd better."
