Is The President Doing A Good Job?

ChristiaNet.com, the world's largest Christian portal with nine million monthly page loads, recently asked, "Is the President doing a good job?" Bill Cooper, president of ChristiaNet said, "A majority of Christians polled expressed a belief that the President could do a better job."

Roughly 2,000 Christians responded to the survey, with 68% stating that the President could be doing a better job. Many responses expressed concern about the President's inexperience and unfulfilled campaign promises. "He lacks the experience and he has broken many of his campaign promises," explained one responder. Many believed that because of the lack of experience, the President is bankrupting the country and promoting Socialism. "Spending is out of control, with no consideration for the impact on the economy or future generations. Hyper inflation is inevitable," stated a concerned Christian. Another participant commented, "He is also trying to put government in control of nearly everything, which will destroy people's desire to strive for excellence." While others believed that God is judging America and the President is one of many divine judgments to come.

Twenty-six percent of Christians who responded said that they felt the President is doing well thus far. Most in this group believed the President is doing well because the previous administration was so bad. "I think he is doing an exceptionally good job considering the mess he inherited." and "He is looking at all options and is going to choose the best one unlike past Presidents." Some felt if Christians continued to pray for the President things would get better. "We need to be patient and ask God to give him wisdom and direction."

Six percent of Christians surveyed said that they were unsure whether the President is doing a good job or not. Change and the economy seemed to be recurring themes for these responders. "His plans for changing the health care system frighten me deeply," stated one responder. "He hasn't been in office long enough for me to form an overall opinion," expressed another Christian. Opinions of other concerned participants were "He's spending way too much money!" and "His policies won't revive the economy."
